Explore the complex history behind one of Liverpool’s best-known landmarks at The Bluecoat’s launch of Ben Shaw’s new book, The Slave Trader.

Drawing on Bryan Blundell’s journal, shipping records, sermons and civic archives, Shaw examines the life of the Bluecoat co-founder, whose prosperity and philanthropy were closely connected to Liverpool’s role in the transatlantic slave trade.
