Where can I purchase a Gift Card?

The Gift Card can be purchased at the Tourist Information Centre on Wall Street.

How can I activate my Gift Card?

If you have bought your gift card online and got it delivered directly to your home, you’ll need to activate the card on the link below. You will need the 9 digit token id from the back of the card and the activation code from the dispatched email.

How can I check the balance for the Gift Card?

If your card was bought on or after 2 September 2024. You can check the balance of your gift card by visiting www.liverpool-one.com/giftcard-balance and provide the 9 digit token ID that you’ll find above the magnetic stripe on your gift card. Altenatively, scan QR code on the back of the card with your phone.

If your card was bought before 2 September 2024. Either ccan the QR code on the back of the card with your phone or visit www.getmybalance.com and enter your card number into the search facility. Alternatively you can call the local rate phone number printed on the back of the Gift Card (24 hour service)

What makes the Liverpool ONE Gift Card different to others?

Unlike a store Gift Card which limits you to purchases only at that store, the Liverpool ONE Gift Card can be used in most stores, restaurants or leisure amenities in Liverpool ONE where MasterCard is accepted. A small number of exceptions do apply, please see list below. 
 

What stores do not accept the Gift Card?

The Gift Card is a prepaid, single loaded card. It is not a credit card and you cannot reload your Gift Card with additional funds.

The minimum you can load onto the gift card is £10.

Online you can buy a gift card up to the value of £400. 

Instore at Tourist Information Centre you can purchase gift cards up to the value of £500. 

Yes, there are no age restrictions on the use of the Liverpool ONE Gift Card.
Gift Cards bought at the Tourist Information Centre at Liverpool ONE cost nothing to process.
You can order as many Gift Cards as you wish.
We accept all major credit and debit cards including Switch, Mastercard, Delta, Visa, Solo and Visa Electron. We do not accept American Express as a means of payment. Please note: gift cards must be purchased within the UK and the payee is required to have a UK address.
Your Gift Card can be used for full or part payment for purchases. If you wish to purchase an item which costs more than the value of your Gift Card, simply let the cashier know how much is on your card so that the difference is deducted before the Gift Card is swiped. For example, if you have a Gift Card with a value of £10 and wish to use it as a means of part payment for an item worth £30, the cashier needs to know the value of the card so that he/she can register that the outstanding £20 will be paid via a different method. If the cashier attempts to take full payment of £30 from a Gift Card with a value of only £10, the card will be declined.
Yes, as long as there are sufficient funds remaining on the Gift Card.
No, but you can purchase a new Gift Card.
Call the Customer Service local rate phone number on the reverse of the card to cancel the Gift Card as soon as you can. The line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will need to know your Gift Card number and provide proof of purchase so you will need to provide some details about the purchaser. You may also be required to provide additional information relating, for example, to when the Gift Card may have been used as well as its balance. Provided the funds have not been redeemed, a new Gift Card will be forwarded to you via Royal Mail.
 
Please be aware that there is a £4.95 fee charged by the gift card provider. 
Your Gift Card expires 12 months from the date of purchase. The purchase date will be recorded on the reverse of the Gift Card when it is bought. If you purchased your card from a Liverpool ONE Vending Machine, please retain the paper receipt as this is your record of the purchase date.
Your Gift Card will no longer be accepted as a form of payment.
Yes they can. If a store runs a one penny transaction on your Gift Card, its value will be recorded on the receipt and no money will be taken from your Gift Card. The remaining balance will also appear at the bottom of all till receipts.
In most cases this is possible, but please check with the retailer prior to purchase.
 
REFUNDS CAN ONLY BE PROCESSED ONTO THE GIFT CARD USED TO MAKE THE PURCHASE.  PLEASE, RETAIN YOUR CARD UNTIL YOU ARE SURE YOU WILL BE KEEPING YOUR PURCHASE.

Your Gift Card is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. 

If your gift card was bought on or after 2 September 2024, and you have a card that has expired, please contact Gift Starr Support on 0191 303 4444 who can assist you further.

If your gift card was bought before 2 September 2024, and you have a card that expired whilst our centre was closed due to lock down, please contact Gift Card Support at EML via the number printed on the back of your card, or email cardsupport@emlpayments.com, who can assist you further.
