

This summer, there’s even more to enjoy on Chavasse Park as Summer on the Park brings a whole host of family fun including a beach, summer children’s rides and free sporting sessions.
Family Activities
Open daily from 11am – 6pm

Head to the Chavasse Park and enjoy our FREE beach area for the kids to play in and space to sit back and relax.
You’ll also find a great selection of rides perfect for younger children, including bumper cars, monster trucks, a bungee trampoline, soft play, and plenty more to keep the fun going (charges apply).
There’s also a selection of delicious treats including churros, waffles, and ice cold slushies!
Free Sports Sessions

Get the kids active this summer with multiple FREE sports sessions every week with local coaches and community organisations including football, gymnastics, boxing, basketball and more!
No need to book in advance, simply come along! However, places are limited and subject to availability. Sport sessions take place Thursday-Sunday, see the upcoming ones listed below.

Thursday 14 August
1pm – 2.30pm | Visually Impaired Boccia with St Vincent’s School
Try out some visually impaired boccia on Chavasse Park with St Vincent’s School! St Vincent’s School is a specialist school for children and young people with sensory impairments and other needs, with their annual free summer camp taking place this year 11-15 August.
Friday 15 August
12pm – 2pm | Wheelchair Basketball with Siobhan Fitzpatrick
Working with the Make Life Kind Foundation, Paralympian Siobhan Fitzpatrick delivers inspiring youth workshops across the UK. After discovering wheelchair basketball in 2010, she turned barriers into breakthroughs – proving that disability sport can change lives. Sessions will take place at the bottom of Sugar House Steps.

1pm – 3pm | Dodgeball with Edstart Liverpool South
Edstart delivers fun, inclusive activities across schools and communities, offering over 30 different sports to get kids active and engaged.

Saturday 16 August
12pm – 5pm | Rowing with Mersey Rowing Club
Join Mersey Rowing Club to test your rowing skills on land over a full fun weekend on Chavasse Park. Mersey Rowing Club is an open and inclusive club in the heart of Liverpool’s famous docks, with women’s, men’s and junior squads open to a range of ages and abilities.

Everton in the Community will be delivering football and multisports sessions for kids on Chavasse Park. Young people of all abilities join them to develop their skills, stay active, and build confidence.
Friday 22 August

FireFit will host drop-in badminton sessions open to children and families of any playing ability to have a go! FireFit Youth and Community Hub is a cornerstone of the charity Torus Foundation, with their youth community centre based in Toxteth.

Get ready to rumble for non-contact boxing activities with England Boxing. Whether you’re a future champ or just want to try something new, this experience for you! Come and feel the buzz ahead of the World Boxing Championships, hitting the M&S Bank Arena this September.

Sunday 31 August
12pm – 4pm | Accessible Sports with Greenbank Sports Academy
Check out a power sports wheelchair & discuss Power Football and Powerhockey, or join Greenbank staff including Paralympian Mark Palmer for table tennis and arm crank sessions! Greenbank Sports Academy is run by local charity Greenbank, whose mission is to support people to achieve their potential through inclusive sport and leisure activities.

Win £500 Sports Grant
Liverpool ONE and The Guide Liverpool have joined forces to give sports clubs and teams across our region the chance to win £500 grants as part of Summer on the Park programme.
Six sports clubs or teams across the region will be awarded a £500 grant each, giving support with items such as kit, equipment, game travel or signage.
The Sport Grant Competition runs from Thursday 24 July until Friday 29 August. Teams and clubs of all types working with children aged between 4-16 are encouraged to enter, from football and boxing to gymnastics…and everything in between!
