Pay: £43,000 per annum
Role Responsibilities (Nights Assistant Manager – Environmental Services and Waste):
• As the senior on-site Environmental services manager during the night shift, the Assistant Manager provides strong leadership to frontline teams working across cleaning and waste operation at Liverpool ONE.
• Support Liverpool ONE’s environmental management system, cleaning and waste policy, working as part of a multidisciplinary team and supporting the environmental services leadership in achieving the targets set by the environmental services department.
• Leading the environmental services team at night by displaying Mitie principles and values, inspiring and motivating the team, performing regular performance reviews with the Team Leaders, and identifying development opportunities for the team members, whilst delivering the highest level of standards and customer experience.
• Management of the night duties of the environmental services Team Leaders and operatives, ensuring suitable manning levels are always maintained, escalating any issues to the Environmental Services Manager.
• Lead the environmental services night team schedule, fleet and resources, ensuring inventories are completed and maintenances are up to date.
• Responsible for the completion of the nights Service Level Agreements for the Cleaning and Waste Services on a daily, weekly and monthly basis liaising with brand partners when necessary to make sure the highest standards are achieved and sustained.
• Undertake team briefings, engagement activities to ensure the night management team and operatives fulfil their role in line with established processes and compliance to achieve the highest standard of cleanliness and waste management services across the Liverpool ONE estate.
• Supervise and check compliance with nightly tasks assigned to the team, paperwork and machinery, addressing issues and escalating accordingly.
• Liaise with the relevant business support functions as required to ensure the team have the correct knowledge, qualification, certification, training and tools to perform their job correctly and with the highest standards.
• Delivery of compliant practices which meet all statutory requirements and codes of practice, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental requirements.
• Ensure that all systems and processes as determined by the Environmental Services Manager and Mitie are implemented and delivered by all team members.
• Manage the Cleaning and Waste operative resource within the agreed budget, monitoring team holidays and absences, and liaising with Resourcing and Workforce planning co-ordinator when necessary to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Conduct audits and inspections whilst deploying the tasks necessary to keep the highest standards across cleanliness and waste management in Liverpool ONE.
• Support on the delivery of all service and standards across the nights shift pattern reporting to the Environmental Services Manager.
• Deliver estate wide projects across all the nights environmental services teams ensuring consistency and the highest standards across all, aiming to provide the best customer experience.
• Take ownership of own professional development, ensuring skills and knowledge are continuously improved in line with changing business requirements, and to enable the adoption of best practice within the Environmental Services and
Operations team, whilst adhering to the vision, values, aims and objectives of Liverpool ONE.
– To provide Silver Command leadership in the event of major incident as and when required on the night shift.
• To undertake and execute any other reasonable duties as requested by the Environmental Services Manager.
What we’re looking for:
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop team performance to deliver KPIs and other performance related targets.
• Experience of effectively managing interpersonal dynamics and individual / team performance whilst fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Proven leadership experience in a cleaning and waste management environment.
• Experience in shopping centre, retail, hospitality, security, or facilities environments preferred.
• High level of situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Qualifications in IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, WAMITAB, COSHH
• Experience of working within a night shift pattern preferred.
• Managing a team to deliver services to an agreed budget
• Ability to work across multiple disciplines
• Effective reporting
• Accuracy in record keeping
• Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
