Get ready for a unique day out as a pop-up racing yard comes to Liverpool ONE on 22 August as part of National Racehorse Week 2026.

Meet racehorses up close, try your hand at riding like a jockey and discover more about caring for these incredible equine athletes. There’ll also be farrier and physiotherapy demonstrations, expert talks and the chance to explore a racehorse’s wardrobe. T

Taking place on Thomas Steers Way, the free event offers families and visitors the opportunity to experience the world of horse racing without leaving the city centre.

Activities to enjoy on the day, include:

• The chance to meet racehorses 

• Experience riding like a jockey, with tips from Racing to School and some of Britain’s best-known jockeys. 

• Witness farrier and physio demonstrations and ask the experts questions about caring 
for equine athletes
