Since then as we have grown and matured as an organisation, we have continued to follow the principles of best practice set out in the Investors in People standard and were delighted to be reaccredited with Investors in People Silver in 2017 under the new sixth generation standard.
The 2017 assessment recognised key strengths in managing performance, creating sustainable success and empowering and involving people. These areas of best practice were seen to be supported by a high level of pride in the company and a genuine commitment across employee groups to ensure long term sustainability and a good service to our customers.
Shortly after our Silver Award in 2017, we were shortlisted as a finalist at the international Investors in People Awards in the category of Excellence in Social Responsibility. We were extremely honoured for this aspect of our business to be recognised by Investors in People, especially as it was for one of our ONE Community initiatives working in partnership with charity, Everton in the Community. The work placement project was designed to support young people out of work, building their confidence and enhancing their employability, whilst developing our own team’s skills and experience as mentors.
The Investors in People interim assessment process commits us to continuously improve our people approach and we look forward to our full reassessment in May 2020.
