Ultimate Guide: Three Festival Tall Ships Regatta 2018

Ultimate Guide: Three Festival Tall Ships Regatta 2018

With so much going on this bank holiday weekend, it’ll be one to remember!

One event we’re especially excited for is the Three Festival Tall Ships Regatta 2018 taking place 25-28 May. Linking a trio of vibrant port cities – Liverpool, Dublin and Bordeaux – with some nail-biting racing across the Irish Sea and Bay of Biscay, it’s an event that can’t be missed!

Tall ships

This is the fifth time Liverpool has hosted these historic craft in the past three decades, and during Capital of Culture year an estimated million people packed the banks of the river to catch a glimpse of the Parade of Sail. You can visit the Tall Ships from 12pm on May 25 on the Cruise Liner Terminal and in the Canning and the Albert Docks, plus see the magnificent Parade of Sail at 12pm May 28 where the Tall Ships will make their way up and down the River Mersey accompanied by a flotilla of other craft before sailing for Liverpool Bay at the start of their race.

As well as the boats, there will also be three festivals taking place reflecting the port cities. Enjoy spectacular performances, unique entertainment, street animation and live music at Liverpool Festival in the city centre, Irish Festival at the Albert Dock and French Festival on the Pier Head.
