Liverpool ONE Foundation Case Study: Liverpool Digital Music Festival

Wednesday 10 March 2021

Liverpool ONE Foundation grantee Merseyside Arts Foundation has partnered with the festival for the first time.

Liverpool Digital Music Festival is a brand new live streamed music festival which has featured internationally acclaimed artists from the Liverpool City Region, including Zuzu (Universal Music), All We Are (Domino Records) and Jamie Webster (Modern Sky UK).  Following two successful editions of the festival which raised vital funds for charities including Claire House Children’s Hospice, Mary Seacole House and Merseyside Youth Association, the festival partnered with Merseyside Arts Foundation in 2021 to deliver ‘Liverpool Digital Music Festival: Rise’ a mini ‘from home’ festival exclusively for young performers aged 16-24 residing in the Liverpool City Region.

Through Liverpool ONE Foundation’s support of the partnership of Liverpool Digital Music Festival and Merseyside Arts Foundation, young people were provided with a performance opportunity during the lockdown period which served as a focus point for personal and creative development and filled a vacuum for both performers and audience alike as a response to the Covid restrictions facing live music.

As a grantee of Liverpool ONE Foundation, Merseyside Arts Foundation has been enabled to deliver key creativity and culture led initiatives supporting young people in the region.  This has included the launch of ‘The Mind Map’ – a brand new locally based, nationally facing digital resource utilising arts and culture to leverage positive mental health and well-being, in addition to a dedicated research and development programme to refine high-quality arts-led models of working which has in turn seen further investment by Arts Council England.
