There’s nothing like the first few buds of Spring appearing, and the possibility of throwing off your massive coat and getting stuck in to some new season style.
First up is a heralded classic: the simple mule. Although they might’ve been back in style for a while, we’re looking forward to rocking them for the warmer months with lighter fabrics and jackets. While still as comfortable as ever, classic mules work with a lower heel, adding a touch of the casual and making them the perfect shoe for cool nights out. We love these Leather Heeled Platform Mules, found at & Other Stories on South John Street. Dressed up or dressed down, these shoes go with everything – especially the latest blockbuster at Odeon.
The statement all-in-one
All-in-ones have become a staple of any Spring/Summer wardrobe, and 2020 continues to honour the trend that cuts pairing clothing items in half. New Look on Paradise Street has always led the way in the best trends for onesies, and we can’t get enough. And there’s a bonus: this piece also cleverly features the utility trend, back for this year. Whether you rock a dressed-up or dressed-down look, the flattering cuts cater for all.
The trench coat
Year after year the trench coat returns as our Spring cover-up staple. It’s unrelenting in how it pulls together an outfit, dressed up by heels or dressed down by trainies. But after a few years of being firm friends with ours, we finally need a new one. We’re talking new silhouettes and lighter shades like the Editor Trench from Topshop, classic and pretty from Mint Velvet, or practical and showerproof from John Lewis & Partners. Pair it with a bright red lip. Then take yourself and your new look for a cocktail at Aether.
The floral trend
We’re feeling all romantic this Spring/Summer 2020, as floaty and floral dresses bloom all over the high street. We love this black and white number from Polo Ralph Lauren with a cinched in waist, and the absolute masters in floral prints, Ted Baker, have smashed the boho trend with this Pergola Puff Sleeved Midi Dress. Guess’s J.Lo collection is making us feel beautiful and powerful, and the Honey Asymmetrical Pleated Dress is giving us all kinds of feels. Find us on the streets if Liverpool next shooting our own Dolce Vita inspired campaign!
And last but certainly not least: accessories. No Spring/Summer wardrobe is complete without updated extras. This cute wicker range from kate spade new york has the potential to complete an outfit for any occasion, as well as being a conversation starter due to its sheer gorgeousness. With a splash of colour and that signature kate spade logo, this bag will travel with you everywhere this summer.
We feel completely sorted now for Spring/Summer 2020. All that’s left is for the sun to come out, which we’re told will be in no time at all!
