Warm-up at Hotel Chocolat
Head to Hotel Chocolat where you can pick up some indulgent gifts and enjoy delicious treats in the chocolate cafe right inside the store. There’s a fantastic choice of hot chocolates, Coffee Chocolat Lattes and plenty of warming, spiced seasonal specials. And it may be freezing outside, but we bet the kids will still jump at the chance to enjoy Hotel Chocolat’s famous Ice Cream of the Gods.
Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival
It’s back! The iconic Christmas Ice Festival returns to Pier Head from 13 November to 5 January with its biggest ever ice slide, plus covered outdoor rink, funfair rides and pop-up food and drink stalls. There’s plenty for all ages, with penguin skate aids for tiny skaters through to the high-speed ice run for thrill-seeking teens. If you don’t fancy taking to the ice, you can always sip a lovely mulled wine or two from the sidelines.
Polar Adventure at Chavasse Park
A land train adventure is setting off from Chavasse Park this Christmas, as part of a brand new experience at Liverpool ONE. Perfect for children, the train departs from a special station at Chavasse Park and includes several stops for face painting, crafts, hot chocolate and storytime inside festive yurts.
It’s led by the Jolly Station Master, who’ll be your guide through light installations, live performances and more – all taking place between 15 November and Christmas Eve.
After dark – Christmas in Liverpool for adults
Now it’s time for a more grown-up look at the festive fun and games available in the city this year. Whether you have a Christmas party to plan or are ready to party with friends and family, we’ve got plenty of fun ways to spend the season right here in Liverpool.
Liverpool Christmas Market
In the forecourt of the magnificent St George’s Hall is the much-loved Christmas Market. More than 40 charming, twinkly wooden chalets will be selling handmade gifts, crafts, food, drink and more from St George’s Plateau from 15 November to 23 December.
Always one of the best Christmas activities in Liverpool, the market is a great place to indulge in some Christmas shopping with friends and family. And you can have a cheeky tipple while you browse. Choose from the cosy Ski Lodge, Teepee Bar and the Windmill Bar and Gin Tin, and make sure you sample the food – the Bavarian Grill and Yorkshire Pudding Wrap stall are particular highlights.
Mulled and Spiced Christmas Cocktails
If the temperature’s dropping, it can only mean one thing – it’s time to warm those cockles with a mulled wine or two.
Bars across the city are also launching some spectacular festive cocktail specials, including The Club House at Liverpool ONE with its brand new Seasonal Showstoppers menu. It features a Nutella Espresso Martini, Chocolate Orange Aperol Spritz, Black Forest Mojito and even a Butter Beer! House warmers include a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Unicorn Hot Chocolate and a lovely Winter Punch. You may have to visit more than once to give this menu a thorough testing.
Karaoke, drinks and apres-ski at Bar Hütte
Bar Hütte under the Liverpool ONE Christmas tree is THE place for festive atmosphere, with free-flowing drinks, a cosy Alpine atmosphere and ski lodge party vibes. And there’s karaoke too. Book a Hütte for 6-10 of your pals and belt out the Christmas hits from Mariah, Wham! and all your favourites..
