3 month check in – Health and fitness tips

Now that it’s March, the idea of New Year’s resolutions might seem like a distant memory. But even if you've already broken a promise to whip your exercise routine into shape, there's still time to get fit for summer.

In this blog, we take a look at a few of the ways you could kickstart your fitness to enable you to become a happier, healthier version of yourself.

Update your workout wardrobe at adidas and JD Sports

You can’t expect to get in the right frame of mind to exercise unless you’re kitted out with suitable clothes. If you look the part, you’re bound to feel the part. So, to get started, why not think about updating your workout wardrobe?

The good news is, there are a number of sports shops in Liverpool ONE where you can get everything you need – including adidas and JD Sports. Regardless of whether you’re looking for a stylish top for the gym, the ideal pair of leggings for running or a comfortable swimsuit for racking up lengths in the pool, you won’t struggle to find exactly what you want.

Aside from clothing, you’ll also be able to pick up any fitness accessories you may need. JD Sports and adidas stock everything from backpacks and gym bags to water bottles, knee pads and swimming goggles.

You can find JD Sports on Paradise Street and adidas on South John Street.

Find the perfect footwear at Foot Locker

Once you’ve sorted out your workout wardrobe, it’s likely you’ll need the right footwear too. Foot Locker offers a wide range of footwear options for just about any sport. For example, you can choose from an array of lightweight trainers with cushioned soles that are perfect for pounding the pavements or treadmill, as well as a variety of high top basketball shoes to help you navigate your way around the court. Whatever you’re looking for, the staff in store will be able to help you find the right equipment for each sport.

Spread over two floors and an impressive 21,000 square feet, you can access the Foot Locker store from the top of the steps opposite Debenhams or from its entrance on Wall Street.

Join the Dockside Runners

Getting back into exercise can be daunting – especially if you’re going about it solo. So, if you’re keen to get fit but you don’t want to do it alone, why not join the Dockside Runners? This is a free running club that meets every Tuesday evening at 6:15pm for grouped pacer sessions, and Sundays at 10:30am for mixed distance runs. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be a confident runner just yet, don’t worry – there’s something for all abilities.

Both sessions meet at the realbuzz store in Liverpool ONE, which is located on Lord Street.

Aside from giving you the chance to challenge yourself physically, the Dockside Runners club is a great way to meet new people and socialise too. Find them on Twitter on @DocksideRunners.
