Following the huge success of their recreation of the Beatles’ Abbey Road roof performance last year, LIPA Sixth Form is back with another stirring and fun version of a prominent theme in the British music scene.

The free gig marks the 25th anniversary of the musical movement being at its peak in the mid-90’s, with students performing songs by Blur, Oasis and Liverpool band Cast, among many others.

Last year’s celebration gig of 50 years since the Beatles’ last performance drew crowds and TV appearances, along with sixties-inspired dancing in the street, and this year LIPA Sixth Form students hope to put Britpop back on the map.

Taking place on the bridge of South John Street in Liverpool ONE, the performance will run from 11am until 3.30pm, with musicians supported by Technical Theatre and Design students and with additional performances by Dance students. Students will be collecting donations on the day for the Make A Wish Foundation.
