Christmas calligraphy workshop with Daughter of Dawn
On Saturday 2 December, 2pm – 4pm, join Katie from Daughter of Dawn Design in this 2 hour modern calligraphy workshop, with a christmassy theme!
We will start from the very beginning and learn the basics of nib and ink calligraphy, and we will end by making our own beautiful Christmas cards and gift tags. We will all enjoy a festive drink (included in the price of your ticket!) in John Lewis, Liverpool, as we cover the basics of calligraphy, from how to hold your pen, to how to dip your ink, we will then go on to worksheets, which involves practicing basic strokes, creating letterforms, and joining letters.
We shall finish by making some lovely Christmas cards and gift tags (as many as you can before we finish!) There will be lots of different card, ink colours & strings for you to choose from. No experience necessary, even if you have never picked up a calligraphy pen in your life, you will be writing beautifully at the end of this workshop. Whether you are looking to pick up a new hobby, learn a new skill, or simply just have a fun christmassy afternoon and meet new people, this workshop is open to all.
Calligraphy is a wonderful skill to have when it comes to making wedding invitations and place cards, making greetings cards, creating quotes to be framed, writing gift tags, and so much more. A skill that will come in handy the whole year round!
The workshop will take place on Floor 2 in the Jan Molby Community room.
