Girl's & Boy's Shoes
‘He obliged Cinderella to sit down, and, putting the slipper to her little foot, he found it went on very easily, and fitted her as if it had been made of wax.’ – Charles Perrault
We all love the Cinderella fairy tale, not only for its rags-to-riches plotline, and its positive hard-work-pays-off-in-the-end moral lesson, but also because it’s essentially a story about SHOES!
What is it about footwear that catches our imagination at such an early stage in life? Perhaps it’s the fact that it’s the one part of our outfit that we can look at constantly without the need for a mirror. So we glance down in admiration at our brand new pair of shoes, all shiny and (as yet) unscuffed, and we let out an inner squeal of unbridled delight. It’s a feeling we never grow out of.
