Purple Tuesday
Liverpool ONE is delighted to be participating in Purple Tuesday, taking place on 12 November 2019.
Across the UK, the Purple Pound – the consumer spending power of disabled people and their families – is worth £249 billion and is rising by an average of 14% per annum. Worldwide, the Purple Pound equates to a staggering £2.25 trillion, yet less than 10% of businesses have a targeted plan to access this disability market.
As part of Liverpool ONE’s participation, several of our stores will be formalising a quiet time from 9.30 – 11am on Tuesday 12 November, including:
- & Other Stories
- Cass Art
- HMV
- Lego
- New Look
- Oliver Bonas
- Radley
- Smiggle
- Swarovski
- The Body Shop
- The Entertainer (Weekly “quiet hour” every Saturday)
- Too Faced
- Waterstones
Stores detailed will be ensuring all usual loud noises are either reduced or removed during this time period, such as beeping and music.
As well as a quiet hour, Bradbury Fields will be on hand with Liverpool ONE’s community stand offering customers support and guidance on how to engage with people who are visually impaired. The Liverpool ONE Information Centre team and City Stars will also be available to offer support and guidance to shoppers who may need assistance.
We’ll also be lighting up the Zig Zag steps, area outside ODEON, light benches and the John Lewis & Partners Bridge purple, in support of the day!
