Coming together for KIND

Coming together for KIND

Wednesday 6 September 2017

By encouraging our retailers, suppliers and event partners to get involved and support our charity partnership with KIND, together, we’re achieving more for children across our city.

Our partnership with children’s charity, KIND, began in 2016 and has continued to grow through 2017. As our partnership has developed, we’ve found ourselves in a great position to connect our retailers and suppliers with KIND. Together, we’ve achieved some fantastic results for KIND and their work with children across our city…

Early this year, Cosy Club, one of our newest restaurants on Paradise Street, chose KIND to be their fundraising partner for their first month of opening. Cosy Club donated 0.50p from the sale of every burger and coffee, and raised an incredible £2,683 for KIND’s half-term club.

Our on-site maintenance and electronics contractor, Birchall, have been behind our partnership with KIND from the start. They supported a charity cricket match for KIND in 2016 by donating £1000, and this year, have teamed up with us again to volunteer their time and skills at KIND. We spent an afternoon painting and varnishing, helping KIND’s SEED Centre, get ready for summer.

One of the other ways we’ve worked with KIND is by inviting their kids, as special guests, to our events and activities. Our stores have repeatedly got involved in these activities: the kids have met Lego Batman, had art classes at Cass Art. Our event partners have also extended invitations to KIND, meaning that the kids have been able to explore and relax in the Luminarium, be the first guests on this summer’s Motion Rides funfair in Chavasse Park, and had exclusive sports sessions with coaches from Liverpool John Moores University as part of our Summer Sports event.

The collaborations between KIND, ourselves, our retailers and suppliers, shows just how much we can achieve by working together. We’ll continue to champion KIND’s incredible within our community, and encourage, not just our team, but our retailers and event partners, to support their incredible work with those children who are in need in our community.
