BBC Children in Need

BBC Children in Need

Friday the 17th November, BBC Merseyside's Breakfast Team will finish their 5 day Busk and Bike challenge with a magnificent choir performance on Paradise Street, Liverpool ONE!

BBC Children in Need once again kicks off with a roster of celebs undertaking a range of equally incredible and eccentric challenges from 19.30 this Friday.

Across the country, local BBC offices, business, schools and individuals will be fundraising for Children in Need contributing to the £800million that’s been raised since the first appeal in 1980. In our region, BBC Merseyside’s Breakfast team will take on their most ambitious fundraiser yet, when they set off on a specially designed bicycle with guitars in tow for a 140-mile bike and busk across Merseyside and Cheshire.

Embarking from Lord Street in Southport live on the show on Monday 13th November, Breakfast Show presenter Tony Snell and producer Steve Coleman will cycle and sing – Busk and Bike – for five days before finishing on Paradise Street, Liverpool ONE, Friday afternoon around 3pm.

Tony and Steve will be joined in Liverpool ONE by the Sing Me Merseyside choir and the Mersey Harmony Choir who will help them put a fantastic live performance as part of our Choirs at Christmas initiative. They’ll also be joined by BBC colleagues and Pudsey Bear who’ll be fundraising with collection buckets throughout their performance.

We’re proud to support BBC Children in Need and the immense impact on our local area. It’s currently funding 78 projects across Merseyside with more than £5million invested in the city-region that supporting charities like Claire House, The Reader, Everton in the Community Zoe’s Place.
