A new dining experience has arrived at Liverpool ONE. Red Hot World Buffet is a self-service restaurant with an impressive choice of delicious global cuisines including Chinese, Indian, Thai, Mexican and Italian – all for one set price.

Dishes are created at live cooking stations and the restaurant is open daily for lunch from 12pm- 4pm with the evening gourmet buffet open from 5pm-10.30pm, Sunday-Thursday and 5pm – 11pm, Friday and Saturday.

The Liverpool ONE restaurant reviewer recently visited with her husband to sample the culinary delights of the evening gourmet buffet.

It was a wet Saturday evening, stepping in out of the rain we were warmly greeted at the door and made our way to the bar upstairs to relax on a comfy leather sofa and enjoy a bottle of wine whilst we waited for our table, (Jack Rabbit’s Rose, £14.95). The stylish bar is tastefully decorated with black and white floral walls and subtle red lighting.

After a short while, a waiter appeared and escorted us to our table downstairs by the window, overlooking the Leisure Terrace. The waiter explained the simple concept: pick up a plate and help yourself to as much food as you can eat!

The cooking stations are labelled clearly by cuisine type and individual dishes. So, first we headed to the Salad & Seafood Bar; choosing a range of dishes including buffalo cheese and plum tomato with basil pesto, mini savoury tartlets, tossed green salad, sushi, mussels and whole prawns.

In the evening, there’s a selection of 120 items available from starters, salads and main courses to home made desserts produced by in-house pastry chefs.

Next we chose a selection of Indian and Chinese starters including vegetable samosas, onion bhajis, calamari rings and crispy lamb with pancakes.

Subsequent courses included Tex Mex dishes of barbecued sweetcorn, chicken tortillas, chicken wings and potato wedges. Having taken our time to savour each plate, we left room to enjoy a sumptuous selection of desserts including mango and pistachio-flavoured ice creams, mini cheesecakes and fruit pavlovas.

The contemporary restaurant is suitable for everyone. It can cater for couples and families, as well large parties. The self-service element works well if you’re in a hurry and need a quick bite to eat; as well as if you want to take your time to savour each plate and make the most of sampling different dishes from around the world.

Booking is recommended.
