Swatch is Excited to Announce Two Collaborations
THE WATCH DESIGN FROM SWATCH AND MATHIEU MERCIER IS A COOL KALEIDOSCOPE OF COLLABORATION, CREATIVITY, STYLE AND TIME
A profound appreciation for contemporary art's endless innovations has long-since been part of the Swatch ethos. Since as far back as the mid-1980s, when the iconic Swiss watch and jewellery maker first began to collaborate with established and emerging visual artists from around the world resulting in special collections, limited edition designs and one-off time pieces. The Swatch & Art banner, under which these amazing collaborations continue to be regularly unleashed, confirms a noble commitment to creating and promoting 'wearable art for the wrist'.
Swatch's latest collaboration with internationally-acclaimed artist, Mathieu Mercier, plays host to an exciting convergence of the cerebral and visual dynamism always proposed by his own work, along with the technical expertise and superb attention to detail characterizing every watch ever made by Swatch.
SWATCH COLLABORATES WITH LEGENDARY MUSICIAN MOBY TO RELEASE A WATCH
Embracing and incorporating the most exciting ideas from the most interesting artists is absolutely integral to the Swatch ethos. This long-established belief in creative collaboration has seen the iconic Swiss watch and jewellery maker regularly join forces with a carefully curated selection of established and emerging artists - whom work across wide-ranging visual or sonic disciplines - since as far back as the mid-1980s. These ground breaking collaborations have resulted in a succession of amazing limited edition collections and one-off designs being proudly unleashed under the Swatch & Art banner during the past few decades.
Continually adding to this legacy, Swatch recently joined forces with the phenomenally successful musical artist, DJ and producer, Moby, to produce a limited edition watch Little Idiot (SUOZ129S) that echoes the inventiveness and technical perfection found in any of his well-known songs.
This watch is available in a limited edition of 7777 pieces and comes in special packaging, with prints of Moby's hand drawn 'Little Idiot' character - who has cropped up in various of his music videos - adorning both the time piece itself and its packaging. A simple yet sophisticated colour palette of rich blue, white and a dash of yellow has been deployed across the sleek plastic and silicone surfaces of Moby's design, to ensure it merges maximum stylishness with the humorous mood and fluid, linear technique of his charming illustrations. Bold, quirky and fun, this watch is an adorable addition to any music or fashion lover's wrist.
