Red Carpet Ready!

February is the month when all eyes are on the new season. Fashionistas start venturing out, whether on a hot Valentine’s date or a night out with the girls, and for inspiration there is no better place to start than Hollywood when it comes to red carpet glamour. At the Golden Globes Jessica Alba and Reese Witherspoon shone in strapless gowns, the most dominant trend, and in February all eyes will be on the Oscars, so take inspiration from modern day screen goddesses to inspire you.

black dresses

We are all about investment dresses that will stay with us through the season and when it comes to star style there is no better place to start than the classic black number. Flannels is designer heaven and this Red Valentino Frill Dress has a fabulous bow adornment which makes it young and flirty. Its body con style is very Carrie Bradshaw. If you want to go more formal then this long black LK Bennett Tuesday dress is just the fashion ticket. This one shouldered beauty needs a red lip and an updo – very Angelina Jolie.

purple and nude dresses

Another trend we love is the Hitchcock Heroine look – classic fifties styling brought bang up-to-date. This Ted Baker Langley Raul Ball Dress is pure retro Hollywood Housewife, and we couldn’t resist the colour and the embroidery which make this piece really stand out. For a more muted style this Reiss Elenor dress has real Grace Kelly appeal. It quietly screams class, and that is always in fashion!

coast and debenhams dresses

Strapless is such a huge trend this season and there are lots of ways of doing it in style. We adore this vintage-style mint green Debut at Debenhams Corsage dress. Pastels are totally on trend so this dress will see you through so many occasions. Last but not least comes the fabulous Coast Symphony Maxi dress. It comes in an amazing array of colours and the Grecian pleating and styling deserves its own golden statue as it enhances every figure.

accessories

Accessories are key to this look – this is a time to embrace all out glamour! These Moda in Pelle Senorita sandals would befit any Hollywood superstar – the twisted diamante styling and ankle straps would set off any of our dresses. The Moda in Pelle Dazzle Bag is the perfect accompaniment to the shoes. Finally, we thought we would add these John Lewis Finesse Silver Shade earrings. Their stunning Art Deco styling means you will be on trend, too, with all of the new twenties looks that are heading our way.

Whether you are having a great cocktail night with friends, a Valentine’s celebration, or just want to start eyeing up the very best looks of the new season it is time to get out of those quilted coats and into dreamy dresses. When the moment comes, check your lipstick, hold your head high, and walk tall. You just became the leading lady in your own life!
