Liverpool ONE is committed to reducing our environmental impacts and to the continual improvement of our environmental performance.

Waste and Recycling
We provide a co-mingled recycling service for all of Liverpool ONE’s customers and retail and leisure tenants, as well as the use of our Waste2Water tanks that break down waste and allow the water to be recycled and used on site. We recycle a huge variety of materials including cardboard, glass and coffee granules, and have achieved 98% diversion from landfill.

We have numerous innovative processes in place to reduce our energy usage, with our energy management systems continuously monitoring Liverpool ONE’s carbon footprint and ways in which we can become increasingly environmentally friendly. Where possible, lighting has been replaced with LEDs and movement light sensors have been placed in some areas of Liverpool ONE, as well as external companies being selected on the basis of how they protect the environment.

We have worked closely with our partners at Botanical to ensure all the plants in Chavasse Park and throughout the site nurture nature, with the National Museums being commissioned to report annually on the biological diversity within the park. Did you know we have over 350 species reportedly living in the park? These are all included in our fantastic Nature Trail which is open all year round.

Awards and Accolades
Our outstanding achievements have resulted in Chavasse Park being awarded the Green Flag Award, along with the ISO 14001 accreditation acknowledging our committed approach to our environmental initiatives. We were also awarded the Liverpool Echo’s Environmental Business of the Year Award 2014-15 at their prestigious Environmental Awards.
